Entrepreneurs never enjoy a person telling them what to do or how to do it; it’s the reason that they went into business for his or herself. One of the first lessons most entrepreneurs adopt from the companies that they work for is regulating overhead. Rather than immediately hire people, the entrepreneur plays all parts in the beginning and rightly so, however, how long is the beginning? What’s the plan for bringing on people? At what financial point do you add to your business? Who are the first people you hire? How important is bookkeeping?
Allow me to say this in the most affectionate manner. IF YOU ARE DOING EVERYTHING IN YOUR BUSINESS, then you don’t have a business. There is a difference between lowering overhead and under supporting your business. Entrepreneurs are overwhelmed by the additional responsibilities and duties that accompany the business they have entered. Outside of the gift used to create their sales or revenue, there are licenses, laws, recording of data, taxes, payroll, just to name a few. Some decide that they need to take classes to learn those things however, that time takes time away from the Entrepreneur doing the things he or she needs to do to make money! Remember now there is no longer a corporation running around the entrepreneur. He or she is it, the beginning, the ending and the middle!
Instead of looking at a bookkeeper/business coach being added to the business team as a burden, view it as the highest compliment! The side hustle you’ve been doing, the extra income has grown to a place where it can no longer be supported by just YOU! The wealthiest people in America are not building their wealth by doing it all! They view it all but they do not do it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting assistance isn’t a weakness but rather it demonstrates strength. It takes courage to add someone to your vision, to continue to seek knowledge, to push your boundaries and face your weaknesses.
Change your view entrepreneur! For your vision to grow; it will require you to be challenged, comfort zones pushed but in the end it will all be worth it. It doesn’t matter who you add to the team, they do not replace you, your knowledge and he or she is obligated to you.
